Dimitris Kaimakliotis’ specialized work with sustainable design and natural light derives from his fascination with Le Corbusier’s Notre Dame, otherwise known as the Chapel of Ronchamp. His research into the secrets and techniques for manipulating natural light within space and form in the Chapel of Ronchamp has been recently published and was presented at the 27th International Conference on Passive and Low Energy Architecture in Belgium. The architect used physical modeling to test his ideas, something the studio also tries to do for each project.
